Judge Kirkton

Judge Kirkton presides at the Probate court session where Merton Vale's last will and testament is read. The Judge is a stickler for the rule of law, at least as far as it applies to wills.

Most of the characters in the novels are based on place names in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland, many of them close to the tiny village of Findo Gask.

There are a great many place with "Kirkton" in their name in Scotland. Kirkton near Findo Gask is a tiny hamlet in Perth and Kinross.
