Alva Vale

Wife (later, widow) of Merton Vale and daughter of Old Man Madderfy. Sister to Creagan Madderfy.

Alva had an affair with Monzie Hosh, who at one time was the proprietor of the Starfield Club.

One of the cast of characters from the Findo Gask series of hard-boiled fantasy detective novels by Trevor Hopkins.

Most of the characters in the novels are based on place names in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland, many of them close to the tiny village of Findo Gask.

Alva (Allamhagh in Scots Gaelic) is a small town in Clackmannanshire, Scotland.

It is one of a number of towns situated immediately to the south of the Ochil Hills. These towns are collectively referred to as the Hillfoots Villages or simply The Hillfoots.

The spectacular Alva Glen cuts into the Ochil Hills immediately north of the town. Alva Burn flows from the glen, through Alva, and into the River Devon
