Ronan Strathallan

Ronan Strathallan is the Head Waiter at Rourkes, a private dining club where Findo Gask first meets Dalgrin Balloch.

Strathallan is unusually pale-skinned and only moderately tall, but seems more so because of his extreme thinness. He has slender and sensitive fingers, cadaverous features and habitually wears a tuxedo and black bow tie.

Most of the characters in the novels are based on place names in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland, many of them close to the tiny village of Findo Gask.

Roman Road is an ancient road that runs roughly parallel to the modern A9 road in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.

Strathallen School is an independent boarding school in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.
